Three Ways School has always embraced opportunities to engage with research and is well known for its innovative approach to SEN. This forward thinking approach is evident in the use of technology in the Sensory Studio.
The Sensory Studio is a purpose built space that provides access to a technology framework designed around multi-sensory education. The space provides an interactive and immersive multi-speaker, multi-projection setup with a bespoke lighting rig, haptic floor, various alternative/accessible interfaces, feedback mechanisms and comprehensive bespoke software systems.
To date Three Ways has engaged with several music and audio research projects and continues to be a participant of Open Up Music’s ‘Open Orchestra’ scheme; music technology based research seems to be something of a specialty, but the types of projects we have been involved with are quite varied.
